Keep With the Bacon...

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the meal you're cooking is about to spill,
When the funds are low and the hunger's high
And you want to eat, but you have to sigh,
When want is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Bacon's strange with its twists and waves
As everyone of us sometimes craves
And many a slab is gone without
When he might eaten had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the grease pops high -
You may succeed with another fry.
Success is failure that you cook and baste -
The sav'ry flavor riding clouds of taste,
And you never can tell just what's left to eat,
It may be broccoli, it may be wheat;
So stick with the meal, ev'ry veggie bit -
To get to the bacon, you must not quit.”
